- - - Travel Thoughts for Everyone - - -

Since I published the previous edition of Michigan Travel Tips, I have helped persons, and that information is not for you to learn and use to determine whether or not I am an honorable and good man, but I note the information about my helping some persons since that is the way of everyday life of a person living in the United States of America, a place that Barack Obama seems to think is filled with uncaring people, especially if they are the so-called rich or especially if they are "conservatives," who follow the ways of The United States Constitution, and there are other politicians who think as Barack Obama does, such as U.S. Senator John Kerry (a Democrat related to Massachusetts), who on August 5, 2011, while a guest on Morning Joe (a program shown on MSNBC on weekdays) urged the main media to avoid giving air time to those who follow the ideas of politics that are not like his, which are related to "enslavism" (particularly socialism and communism) and not The United Stase Constitution, and John Kerry's act was certainly an act to promote "censorship" of those who believe in having a federal government that has politicians restricted from becoming like dictators.  While I write this edition of Michigan Travel Tips, I have three persons who I helped in mind, and two of the persons I had never met before I helped them, and one person I have known for a number of years.  This edition of Michigan Travel Tips will show how I helped the three persons and is designed to help them yet again by what is presented.

The first person I helped was an Asian-type woman who I came across while being a driver for a person who had had total-knee-replacement surgery and was not yet driving regularly, and I met the woman while at a building housing the offices of MEEMIC insurance, which is a business that is located somewhere near Woodward and 14 Mile Road in Birmingham (in Wayne County of the Lower Peninsula).  When my friend's time of doing whatever was about done at the offices of MEEMIC, it began to rain hard, and when we got to the lobby area, the Asian woman was one of two women who were waiting for the rain to let up.  The Asian woman who I would help had an umbrella, and she lent it to the other woman so that the other woman could reach her car without getting too wet, and, minutes later, when the other woman returned, I retrieved the umbrella for the Asian woman.  For several minutes, the Asian woman waited outside the doors of the building, safe under the overhang, while it rained; she was wearing a dress and did not want to get the dress wet, and I would learn she had another concern.  I went out and held the umbrella over her while we walked to her vehicle--she was worried about her skirt flying up.  What was good is my helping the woman also got me closer to the car that I was driving, so I was able to stay relatively dry.

During the little episode, I was able to determine the Asian woman had a pleasant voice, but I could not determine how really smart she was, or if she was or was not a follower of the ways of Barack Obama.  For instance, I was not able to determine whether she would understand that the "debt ceiling" fight in the U.S. Congress at the time was directly linked to how her life would be over the next number of decades and understand that the Democrats--"enslavists" working in conjunction with Barack Obama--were telling lies about how the country would go in default if the "debt ceiling" was not raised and how credit-rating agencies were going to downgrade the debt rating of the country if the "debt ceiling" was not, which I knew was all garbage talk, since, for one, if the "debt ceiling" was not raised, it would not put the country in default, because, each month, the federal government takes in enough money, which can be used to pay off outstanding obligations--bonds, such as U.S. Savings Bonds--that come due for payment.  Also, I was unable to determine whether or not the woman was smart enough to know the head Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate worked against the interests of the good Americans in the country--the non-communists and such--by pushing forth the Budget Control Act of 2011, a truly bad piece of law, which, for one, gave Barack Obama the ability to spend more and more money, at least two-trillion dollars (or 2,000-billion dollars).  So, did I see anything on that trip to that MEEMIC place?  The answer is no.  Oh, but I did see the sights along Woodward Avenue, which in a few weeks would be crowded with people attending the annual "Woodward Dream" cruise, which was scheduled to take place around Friday, August 19, 2011.

Some days later, I was in Rogers City (in Presque Isle County of the Lower Peninsula), and I was waiting around while my friend who had had the knee operation was taking part in physical therapy.  I was doing what I call "stalling."  I was sort of wasting time.  Some of that time to be wasted was spent in the parking lot of Glen's Market, another business in Michigan.  There, I saw a man getting out of his pickup truck, and I could see he could not walk, and I thought he had dropped something, so I went over to the truck, and when I got there, I noticed the thing was the footrest part of a wheelchair, which he had not dropped but had let fall to the ground unceremoniously.  I soon was helping the man--whose name was Ed--by removing his wheelchair from the back of the cab.  And we talked a while, and I learned he had been using a wheelchair for about fifteen years because of a degenerative condition, and I learned he had been postal worker in Detroit for many years.  I did not determine whether or not he was a follower of Barack Obama's ways, but I could see he was a man who would have a harder time in life--for the remainder of his life--if the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2011 is not killed and repealed soon, since it is a terrible piece of law, which was designed and pushed forth into law by "enslavists" and evil people.  I wonder if Ed is aware how the enslavists in the government--mostly Democrats--have been tearing down the health-care system for years and making it worse.

Advertisement: The commercial in this edition of Michigan Travel Tips urges you to get a copy of Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which is a book written by Mark R. Levin.  This book will help you understand better what Barack Obama is--a man who is purposely hurting the country, even though he is the president of the country--but the book is really about enslavers--politicians--who do not believe in the values of The U.S. Constitution and how The U.S. Constitution is designed to limit the power of the government, especially a dictatorship, over the individual (the citizen).  Remember: In the United States of America, it is the individuals who own the government and not the government that owns the citizens, the latter of which is what Barack Obama wants and is pushing for.

The third person who was helped by merecently is about 85 years of age, was born in the Calumet/Kearsarge area of the Keweenaw Peninsula (of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan), lived in the Detroit area for many decades, and now lives in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  Since the woman's vision is poor, she is unable to drive, so I drove her and a friend up to the Eagle Harbor area of the Keweenaw Peninsula since I had published the previous edition of Michigan Travel Tips, which gave the woman the opportunity to see where she had grown up and see a brother who she might not have ever seen again; by the way, a nephew of the woman and his wife came up to Michigan from Tennessee to see people in Michigan, and the woman tagged along, and I picked up the woman  in Ferndale, Michigan, and drove her up to the Eagle River area, and to get the woman home, I drove the woman to Lansing, where we met the nephew and his wife, who then headed back to Tennessee. While traveling with the woman--who is not a supporter of the ways of Barack Obama--I saw several unexpected things, which I will now report to you about.

I begin by talking about three beach areas that I saw.

On the trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula, I drove on US-2 between St. Ignace and M-77 (which is at Blaney Park), and when I was in the general Brevort area--and it happened to be really hot, and it was sunny, and it was midday--and I saw hundreds and hundreds of cars and other vehicles parked along US-2 . The beach area in the Brevort area is very good, and, certainly, thousands of people were using the beach.  It felt good to me to see people were taking advantage of the beach area, which is a free beach.

Later on the same day, I was driving on M-28 near a place called Christmas.  By the way, the Upper Peninsula is a place where you can find Paradise and Christmas all year long.  Christmas is a tiny town in Alger County, and a very, very short distance west of Christmas is the "Scott Falls Roadside Park," which is in honor of Harold T. Rathfoot, and it is a p lace where we had lunch, and I found another beach, though a small beach, which was being used by several dozen persons.  The roadside park has picnic tables, and I can say that is a good place to make a rest stop, especially if you are traveling with children.

Eagle River is right on Lake Superior in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Penisula of Michigan, and at Eagle River, I stayed with people--a husband-and-wife team--who have a house right on the lake.  It was an unusual spring--the recent spring--for the Eagle River area, because this year Lake Superior waves pushed a lot of sand up on the beach area.  Normally, the beach is made up of some sand and a lot of rocks, many of which are fairly round and well worn by having been thrown about a lot by the lake.  I lucked out!  I got to walk a wonderful beach--sand, sand, sand-- and what surprised me is, when I walked in to the water, the water was warm.  Usually, people will tell you that the waters at the beaches of Lake Superior are cold, but this time, I can tell you that I had warm water.  Also what was great is, on the day, I arrived at Eagle River, Ferndale was in the middle of a power outage, which would last about two days and which happened while the temperatures were in at least the upper nineties (Fahrenheit).  I lucked out--I missed the blow out and big heat.

A little south of Eagle River is a little town called Phoenix, and at Phoenix is a museum that is a little church, which is called "Church of the Assumption," and I was given a special tour of the church, the inside of which can be seen usually only through a glass partition that is a part of the main inside door structure.  The church was built in 1858 and moved to the present location in 1899; it sits on land along US-41.  When a visitor looks inside the church, the visitor can see only the first floor, where there is the chapel and pews, and the three mannequins that have been set up by the Keweenaw County Historical Society, which oversees the church today.  Along the walls are old pictures that depict the "Stations of the Cross," and at the front of the church to the right is a small pump organ. What a regular visitor cannot see is the balcony, where, for one, a small choir can be located.  If you travel through Phoenix, Michigan (and not the Phoenix of Arizona), look for the "Church of the Assumption," a place that still stands in a little rural town.

I passed through Germfask on M-77 on two days of the trip--on Thursday, July 21, 2011, and Saturday, July 23, 2011.  At Germfask, I found a military tank on display--outside and along M-77-- and I recognized the type of tank, but I could not recall the proper name or brand name of the tank.  There was no sign that identified what the tank is, but a plaque notes:

In Honor
Edward James Doran
June 28, 1920 - October 14, 1843
VFW Post 8962 - Germfask
PFC U.S. Army WWII
Italy 1942-1943
Son of John and Vera Doran

After arriving home, I did a little research on the Internet to find out what type of tank sits at Germfask.  The tank is an "M-47  Patton Medium Tank," which was made in 1951 or 1952.  I can say only that the tank is an "M-47 Patton Metium Tank," but I am aware that the "M-47 Patton Medium Tank" was made in several specific models, the first of which was a five-man unit (the tank would later be made as a four-man unit), and there would be several specific versions produced.  Germfask, one of the small rural towns in Michigan, should be considered as a place to make a rest stop with children so that the children can see and be photographed next to a real tank.

Incidentally, when I was a little boy, I made a plastic model of a tank, and I believe the tank was the M-47, but my memory of that model is vague.

Promotional announcement: The Landmark Legal Foundation is made up of lawyers, such as Mark R. Levin (of The Mark Levin Show, a nationally syndicated radio show), who fight in court cases against those who do not uphold The U.S. Constitution and the rule of law for the country, and the Landmark Legal Foundation fights for the rights of the individual and against Marxists, communists, and the like.  In this day and age when Barack Obama, who I am convinced has a truly highly ill mind, is going against the rules of the country while pursuing a goal--I believe--to hurt the country and remake it or destroy it, I believe the Landmark Legal Foundation needs your help desperately; for example, retired lawyers who want to protect the country should consider donating time to helping the Landmark Legal Foundation.  I urge you to avoid making any donations to entities that promote manmade global warming or climate change and make a donation to the Landmark Legal Foundation instead (by the way, you should look into supporting the Heritage Foundation).

Let me get back to the first two persons who were talked about in this edition of Michigan Travel Tips.  I have no idea if the Asian woman and Ed understand how "enslavists" (such as communists and socialists)--members of the Democrat Party, especially Barack Obama and the Democrats in the U.S. Congress--are working to persuade them that Republicans, especially "conservatives," are hindering a "balanced approach" to tackling the debt problem, are not working for a "bipartisan" approach, are the cause of the "gridlock" in Washington (D.C.), and do not seem to want to "come together" with the Democrats, and I no have idea if the Asian woman and Ed understand that "conservatives"--those who stand for the ways of The United States Constitution--must block and put up walls to block the evil ways of Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, and I have no idea if the Asian woman and Ed understand that the "enslavists" (those in the Democrat Party and a few in the Republican Pary) pulled a scam job on the American people with the creation of the Budget Control Act of 2011, which will lead to politicians' being able to take more of the Asian woman's lifetime and work and Ed's lifetime and work, such as by taking more and more taxes--as a percentage of their lives--from them, and I have no idea if the Asian woman and Ed understand that the government is not "broken," as some people might say, and that, instead, defective people have been voted into political jobs and are working to hurt the Asian woman and Ed.

While traveling between Ferndale and Eagle River, I passed through or by many small towns, many of which only have a few buildings, and those towns can be defined as a part of "rural America."  On August 3, 2011, Barack Obama was in Chicago, Illinois, and attended a birthday-party event for him, and during the event, he made a speech, and one sentence that he spoke was "...Over the next several months, I hope Congress is focused on what the American people are focused on--making sure that the economy is growing, makin' sure that businesses are getting financing, makin' sure the young people are getting trained for the jobs of the future, makin' sure that we're gettin' all those construction workers that got laid off after the housing boom went bust and putting them to work rebuilding our roads and our bridges, rebuilding Chicago, rebuilding Detroit, rebuilding rural communities across this the country, putting people back to work...."  The statement is loaded with nonsense thought, but it is to be expected since Barack Obama has a defective mind, that which lies regularly and is evil, and the biggest piece of nonsense of the statement is: "...rebuilding rural communities across the country...."  A person, such as that Asian woman I met or Ed, should ask the self such a question as--"What is entailed in the idea of rebuilding a little three-bulding rural town or other small town?"  Little towns in the country, such as in Michigan, are little towns, and it is not as if they were big towns that lost dozens and dozens and dozens of buildings, and the people of little towns simply do as they do and do as they have done with their small populations for ages, but Barack Obama made the big promise that says, in essence, that he is going to rebuild Phoenix, rebuild Eagle River, rebuild Germfask, rebuild Christmas, rebuild Blaney Park, rebuild Brevort....  Such crap Barack Obama lets sneak out or dribble out past his lips, so such ludicrous thoughts must fill Barack Obama's mind.  Tell that to your children and friends while you travel in Michigan.

And enjoy your safe traveling in Michigan!

    Stay well!

    Victor

P.S. #1: Remember: While you travel in Michigan, remind your children or grandchildren that they should never pledge to be a "servant to Obama" or a servant to any politician or sing the praises of Barack Obama, and to help you remember other matters that you should teach children about bad politicians, such as Barack Obama (who can be described as an "enslaver"), see such other documents of mine as Conservatism for Children and What Conservatism Means (which can be reached through this link: Conservatism) and Lessons for Children about Politics and Dangerous People (which can be reached through this link: Children).  (Note: I first passed along the subject of not being a "servant to Obama" and the like in the publication entitled T.H.A.T. #58, which can be reached through this link: T.H.A.T. #58.)
